I have just bought a new pair of rocker shafts and have found one of the shafts has a plug screwed in to stop the oil gushing out from the rear end and the other one hasn't. Can someone please tell me if this plug is missing as I suspect it is or should only one shaft have this plug. I am thinking that there will be no oil pressure and the rockers will be starved of oil leading to a premature failure.

Fred,

You are correct there should be a plug in each shaft.

I was sure that it was missing but wanted to make sure before I sent them back.
