We have received the following from the Abingdon Work Centre team of the MG Car Club which many of you may be interested to note and maybe partake in. Here are the details.
KOP HILL JOINS IN THE MG 100 CELEBRATIONS!
Dear MG Car Club Centre, Register, Branch and Natter Leaders In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the MG marque, the organisers of the wonderful Kop Hill Weekend held at Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, on the weekend of 16th & 17th September has joined in our celebrations by extending a Feature Invitation to the MG Car Club.
Previously to this our special year differing CRB’s of the MGCC organised independently their own display spaces if they met the requirements of age etc, but for 2023 they have agreed that all entries from MGCC members will be placed into one large Static Display in the main show field and their will be space for a minimum of 30 vehicles and space will be allocated as the entries grow so we are in for a great display in celebration and togetherness showing that MG is most certainly the Marque of Friendship.
For being part of the Static Display the entry cost is £25 for one day either Saturday or Sunday and £40 for attending both days per vehicle.
The bookings for the Static Display cars will be via the Kop Hill website www.kophillclimb.org.uk/entrants that opens on Monday 5th June. Please book your entry under the MG Car Club team name that is already set up on their system.
If that is not enough excitement in itself, Kop Hill has also most kindly offered the MG Car Club a very special and one-off “Paddock Display” of 10 – 12 MG cars that will cover as much of the 100 years history of MG cars as much as possible and specially for us this will also include the post Abingdon cars including the SUV. Cars that are part of this most special display area will also be part of the drive up the famous Kop Hill hill-climb in Timeline order each day that we are sure you will agree will be a most memorable sight to behold and be part of.
The cost for being part of this special Paddock Display including the runs up the hill-climb is £55 for one day or £75 for both days.
From the bookings that are placed for the Static Display area, we will be looking at inviting cars from these entries to be part of the Paddock Display.
For full details of Kop Hill please do refer to their website www.kophillclimb.org.uk and if you have any questions please feel free to make contact with myself via chair@mgccawc.co.uk
Kind Regards Angie Wright, Chair Abingdon Works Centre
