Hello folks, this is just an early posting to remind you that the Register's 2023 AGM will be taking place online by means of Zoom.
Date: Thursday the 19th of October
Time: 8 p.m. UK time.

Details will be given in the September issue of Safety Fast and can also be seen on the MGCC Members area of the Forum, where the meeting documents will also be available in due course.

Please note:Nominations for new Committee members are being actively sought and will be welcomed. In particular we are seeking a Treasurer (position currently vacant) and a Secretary ( for health and family reasons Dick Morbey is not seeking re-election) at the AGM.

Hello again folks,

This is a copy of an announcement just placed in the MGCC Members only area of the Forum.

The latest (September) issue of Safety Fast carries the official notice of our AGM, which will be taking place by Zoom on the 19th of October.

Nick will be posting the official downloadable documents onto our website shortly. These will include the 2022 accounts, last year's AGM minutes and importantly a voting form which MGCC Members can use to cast their votes and offer proposals and suggestions.

As most people know, we need to refresh the committee, as some key people are not able to continue after this year's AGM.
Although we wish to have to have small and nimble committee, we are nevertheless looking for volunteers to support the Register's efforts, whether that be on the committee or off the committee.

The AGM provides an ideal opportunity to reinvigorate the Register team and we hope you will seize the opportunity to volunteer your skills and enthusiasm or nominate others who wish to become involved in Maintaining the Breed!

Thank you

All change!

This year’s Register AGM on October 19 will see a number of significant changes on our committee .

Committee Officers:

Jeremy Hawke, our Chairman since 2018 has suffered ill health over the past year. Although he is well on the way to long term recovery he has recently had to decide to step down as Chairman. We thank him for his service and wish him well for the future – hoping to continue to benefit from his huge experience of our cars and their histories.

In addition we still lack a Treasurer.

For health and family reasons Dick Morbey is stepping down as committee Secretary – a job he has been doing for the past 5 years, (although he’s prepared to offer himself for election this year in an ‘ex officio’ capacity).

Happily, our present committee is a robust group and three of the team (Digby Gibbs, Richard Stott and Mike Davies-Colley) have generously offered themselves for election at our AGM for these three officer positions (Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary). This is on the understanding that these would be short term appointments, initially of one year, especially as they currently have other committee jobs.

Making it easier for you to get involved!
To encourage more of you to get involved, to make things easier for everyone and to encourage new blood, we will be simplifying the way the committee works, thus making committee members' jobs less complicated than they may currently appear.

The door is therefore wide open right now for any Member who wishes to be considered for these officer roles or any other roles – either on or off the committee. A golden opportunity for you and other Members to help re-energise the team and serve the cars and the hobby we love.

Join the Committee?
You can do this by putting your name forward to join the committee or become an officer at the Register’s AGM – details, nomination forms, voting forms, etc are available on our website discussion forum. Find a proposer and seconder (or ask us to find them for you). Please don’t delay, nominations finally close on the 16th of October!

We want to reassure volunteers that they (you) won’t find any job burdensome, so that they (you) can contribute to the Register - and continue to have fun doing so!

Helping us in other ways
The prospective officers are already busy with various tasks such as the Library, Bulletin Editor, Safety Fast correspondent and Comp Secretary, so they will need some help. We also need non-committee members to work in the background on other important things, e.g. the Register of Cars, developing the website, editing the Bulletin, editing the Yearbook (position currently vacant) and helping on social and other events.

We are always open to Members getting involved in all these and other areas. PEOPLE are our future. So, please look at the AGM areas of this Forum and consider what you can do in any way to help the Register’s progress.

With your direct support we can be assured of a bright future for the Register!

Thank you.
