Yes but I think the auction today will be even more interesting.

With regard to the photos' of the J2 for sale that Simon refers to in the 'Hanson Auction' there is a photograph of the front of the tub showing the metal reinforcing with the rain channel that stops approximately at half height. My car is like this, I wonder should the rounded channel run to below the floorboards?

Ross.

I note the car sold for a slightly below estimate £17000.

That does look like a good buy!

It’s a P Type engine, not a J.

I see the Q was sold for £161,000 including premium.

The advert says nothing about the engine on this J and my PB doesn't have fan belt or fan, though there is a pulley on the crankshaft.

Does this help?

If the new owner of this car surfaces, I do have a little bit of history information about the car as it had the same first ower as my J2.

Hi Daniel I have replied to you privately as we won OW2953 back into the family. My grandfather was the owner in 1951-53. Any history on the car would be great seems she was owned by one gentleman from 1971 and then another from 2016. We last saw it for sale near oxford for £34k in 2014 so yes seems we got her back for a good price.

On the J2 being auctioned, it seems neither the auction house nor the vendor knew much about the car being sold. It mentions that the engine was derived from the M type engine of Wolseley derivative. No mention that the car was actually being sold with a P type engine fitted
