Yep, marble in the glove box or boot ?? Once had a finger nail file wedged between the floor boards touching the drive shaft causing intermittent scraping.

I was once advised, on taking delivery of a new car, to put a handful of marbles into the glove box.
It was simple then, when a new rattle arrived, to remove one of them to compensate. |

A relative took delivery of his much anticipated brand new Triumph 2000. A fastidious chap, he could not live with a mysterious "rolling Rattle", which despite much searching, and many return visits to the supplying dealer, could not be traced or rectified. In absolute desperation, and as a last resort, he followed his best guess as to the location, and started to remove the interior headlining of his brand new car.
Above the headlining he found a glass marble, which had been merrily rolling around above his head.
A present from a disgruntled 1960s Coventry employee? |

Alvis and Auburn friends were this weekend discussion the replacement of the carburetor with Fuel Injection on their Jeep Grand Wagoneer to find literally 20 cents of vacuum hose bad - after a year of people trying to hunt the problem down.
