Chris B used aluminium because it was easier to work.
I might have to too.
Can anyone recommend a coach builder who can still do it?
It forms the gutters over the doors and boot and, the difficult bit, the thin strip that seals the join between the roof panel and the quarter panels... and isn't there!
Alernatively use solid 3/8" brass extrusion . Shape to body and then drill pilot holes through brass into body . Drill out brass to take shank of escutcheon pins and countersink to take heads of pins . silver solder or even fluxed solder to conceal heads . Smooth off and affix section to car . Done properly a perfectly regular smooth purity of line can be achieved . A lot of work but worth the effort. Lead filled thin walled beading can easily twist and dent, applying pin beading say 8Ft long in one go can be nightmarish . You have to consider where the free end is flailing around scratching all that beautiful paintwork and done freehand unless one is extremely skilled is tricky to say the least. One can always slide lengths into cardboard tubing and feed as you go
