I wondered if anyone could give me advice as to the best tyres (400x19) to fit to my PB, I intend to use it for rallies and some racing. The choice seems to be between Excelsior Comp H and Blockleys?

| Both Blockley and Longstone are good products, but both may be wider than you expect. There's more tread depth on the Longstone but the sidewall is generally softer on the Blockley. |

No Simon, but it had been well documented within this forum that they do after long periods of standing.

Well, I’ve had two sets of Blockleys on my J2 in the last twelve years and despite lengthy periods with the car just sitting in the garage, I have seen no evidence of flat spotting. So perhaps not prone after all?

I never experienced flat spotting until after the chaps in the photo laid a fancy new road surface past my house.
When I ventured out onto the new surface, despite appearances it was just as bumpy as before.
However, when I returned home, it had inexplicably become very smooth.
Flat spotting does occur with Longstones but soon subsides. |

and if competitoon is on your mind perhaps go for 4.50 wide tyres.
Blockley on road and race car and a happy customer here.
No trouble with flatspotting but I do raise the pressure to 3 bar when I expect longer periodes of incactivity.

Thank you all for the comments. I think 450 x 19 Blockleys will be the way to go.
