One for Nick to put onto the Suppliers list please:

Just when you think you've got your car set up for the year, that blessed red light on the dash panel won't go out!

Following all the usual tests the dynamo and cut out come out and are despatched to:

Trevor Joyce
AUB Classic and Vintage
23 Solihull Road
Shirley
Solihull
B90 3HB

Tel: 0121 744 4348

4 Days later following a call from Trevor, I collect said items all tested and dynamo refurb'ed (looks brand new!) Spend Sunday refitting and bingo!

For anyone, like me, who has little understanding of most things electrical, he explained everything, fixed it, repainted it, fitted new bearings and didn't charge the earth.

Great service and to be recommended to everyone.

Robin

Actually I never thought about it quite like that. His workshop resembles a set from Doctor Who with all the test kit he has. All looks very impressive to me and some clver tricks to help stop melting dynamos. Not that mine had melted, just some dry joints.

Well worth contacting in the event of similar issues.
