Peter,

I am of the same opinion as you but I would add, fit an electric fan as well.

Peter.

Peter,

Have you fitted a fan to JB7524? I would be interested to know if there is enough space for a thin fan between the supercharger belts and the radiator.

Thanks.

John, If it's any use, I am using a 9" SPAL fan - see part-section drawing - this projects behind the rear face of the radiator core by 57mm including a 5mm thick foam seal between the fan cowl ring and the radiator. The cowl ring is a 'neat' fit between the cross-member between the headlamp/wing brackets and the upper edge of the radiator bottom tank core header plate.

Part-section fan mounting drawing:

If you'd like further details, please send me your email address.

I must admit that as I sat in the traffic queue, on Sunday evening, my thoughts did turn to electric fans. Preferably, out of sight, in front of the radiator.

Peter, 'suck' fan performance is better than 'blow', i.e. fan to the rear of the radiator.
Also seal the inlet face of the fan cowl ring to the rear face of the radiator - make sure all the forced convection airflow comes through the core and no air leakage from under-bonnet.

Thanks for the advice. Fitting behind the rad is also easier as you don't have to remove it. You just have to endure the wrath of the traditionalists.
