Good morning all, you may like to sign this petition-

When VAT was temporarily reduced to 15%, the Chancellor added 2% duty
to fuel to offset the reduction in tax collected from motorists. Now
that VAT has been increased to 17.5% again this hidden tax has not been
removed - hence recent rises in your fuel costs. Sign the petition at
the link below to have this stealth tax removed!

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/DutyReduction/

Please pass this on to your friends - the more the merrier.

Apologies if you don?t mind this tax but for those who do the petition
closes on Friday 12th March.

What is the present cost of petrol in the UK? Does it vary region to region and if so what can be the range? Here in the States,in New Jersey, gasoline is running about $2.50 an American gallon (a little less than four liters), for our lowest octane gas which most cars will run on. However that cost varies greatly from state to state as the local state taxes vary widely. What is also strange is the fact that the cost can vary widely within the same state based on the gasoline companies marketing programs.

I read Mike's post, and when I had finish crying I signed the petition...

Mike, we are paying between £1.10 - £1.20 a litre, depending on where we live - around £4.50 a gallon, I guess around $6. It varies according to (I have been told) delivery costs from refinery but also, it seems, according to how posh your neighbourhood is - i.e. how much people are able to pay!

Cheers,
Graham
