Assuming the photo appears (I win sometimes & not others!), my car shows no evidence of ever having the 2 arrowed blocks & never seemed to suffer from the lack when I was driving her.
Can anyone enlighten me as to their purpose & how essential they are please.
Hi Dave My PB had new tub 20 years ago with out the wood blocks, I have always believed that they were used for the fixing of the hood mounting brackets?
Many thanks to both of you. Keith, I guess that could apply to the upper one but then my hood frame was attached OK without. I think as neither you nor Dick has them now & I didn't before, I'll do without.
My J2 had the remains of these blocks as well and as original,I would think. Couldn't really see what they did and was able to fit the rear wings satisfactorily without. They didn't have anything to do with the hood bracket. Simon.
