Sometimes get a bit of a clunk from the off side rear wheel on the PB. Could this be spline wear, with the wheel held by the spinner but not locked up, I can move the wheel approx 6mm at the outside of the tyre diameter. Is this "within permissable limits" or do I need new hub.I hammer the spinner up fairly tight, but how tight is tight???
Try to rotate the wheel a quarter of a turn before sliding it back on to the spline, tighten the nut and test drive. If the "clonk" is still here, try another quarter of a turn. It may work for a long time. Now you will have to determine which, of the spline or the wheel, is worn, and be prepared to replace one or another.
