I have just taken the faulty starter motor out of my elderly neighbour's J2 so he can get it rebuilt. Would you believe he has owned the car since 1951 and has used it continuously. The car has never been rebuilt just repaired as necessary. 59 years ownership must be a record.

Hello talbot,

Interestingly Mike Hawke covered this very subject in the Triple-M Yearbook 2003, to celebrate his 50 years of J2 ownership. As we all know he has had J2396 for longer than he or anyone else cares to remember, and having actively campaigned this car for so long i don't doubt it is now one of the most famous MG's of recent decades.

If you do not have the article to hand, it appears there are a handful only who can better your neighbour's ownership.
