I took off the 3-spoke wheel today for a clean and noticed that the 'MG' initials on the nickel-finished boss centre had very worn traces of green paint filling the recessed areas around the letters, thus corresponding to the original upholstery colour on PA 0603.
This query is at the Advanced Anorak level of MG lore, but does anyone know if the letters were matched to the upholstery (sounds far-fetched) at the factory? Or was this just a proud previous owner?
The - temporary replacement - 'Brooklands' wheel has the letter surrounds painted black. |
