I decided to buy a new petrol tank for my PB as the tank top part on PB0635 was rounded and clearly not original. I found it a bit heavy, so I investigated under the paint - and it was made out of quite thick copper sheet!
There was even a manufacturer's plate attached(see picture below) which I interpret as "Viceroy Radiator Works, Woodcate, Leicester 21065" and marked with a number: "C2696".
Must have cost a pound or two, but I guess it would never have leaked - and now the scrap value is about 6£/kilo...
