Calling all F owners...

I like cast iron, rock solid, bottom ends and am contemplating a new crankshaft, £2500. Ouch! These will have to be made specially and Peter Green can knock the price down to £2250 if there are four of us.

I am contemplating going for bigger big ends and using P Type rods and am looking at how I can increase the main bearings size as well. Any other ideas?

And any takers?

Cheers

Peter.
have been down this road.......new billet cranks in F types.
Some suggestions......centre mains...yes bigger works and better if you throw away the alloy scantlins and bronze shells and direct white metal onto new steel ones (As in K/L etc), to get rid of the warming up rattle and loose fit!
Big ends...go to shells ....set of shells and 6 new rods is about the same cost a 6 P/N rods and whitemetal.....and easier to maintain.
and do the oil feed conversion for the rear main.......and full flow filtration.
looks like a yearbook article!

Thanks Barry, the conclusions I was slowly coming to. Didn't know about the steel scantlins, that fills the picture.

Now I just need three others to join me to benefit from the price offer!

Cheers
