With absolutely no reflection on Namrick, who have always served me well, & refunded instantly when I returned, I suggest you look elsewhere if you need these studs, enquiring of your other supplier perhaps, what they offer?
Behind is an original & in front the new type now returned;

They do indeed Alan; many thanks. In fact I think there are several sources of the correct design including Holdens.

I agree with your comments about Namrick. A very reliable and helpful supplier.
I was at Stoneleigh today and looking on Tim Hodgekiss's stand I saw that he has the original style lift dot studs both single and double.

The new item at the front is machined out of solid brass, the origional as shown has the top pressed on. Both are then plated. Both work well, but the brass units last a lot longer. Hope this is of use. Nick Dean.

Yes Nick, I had decided they were rather "better" than the originals, but they would stick out like a sore thumb on a Triple M car & how long a life is needed? I'm sure it will be longer than mine; after all I have a number of good old ones.
Cheers,

I'm not sure I understand the point of this. If it concerns one particular supplier, then I have nothing to offer.
But if its about availability, it seems to me that this (original) stud is easily available.
Here is a common source of nearly everything you will need for hoods etc, including welting (wing piping) that can sometimes be hard to find in various colours; but more particularly in this case, the threaded variety of the 'push-the-dot' stud.

The point about it Gord was merely that those supplied by Namrick, who I stress again are a very good & helpful business, are very obviously different in appearance from the originals, & I wanted to suggest other members saved themselves the trouble of ordering & then having to return their studs. Yes, there is no problem with supply, therefore buy elsewhere!

"Woolies" supply the original style and the brass versions.
