Work has started on the J3 772, and step one is to replace the tired blower.

So, seeking an Arnott 160/1600 (I am told they are the same), ideally with opposing ports. Any offers or even clues leading to a replacement would be most welcome.

To those options I would also be interested in a Centric 160 since they are much the same (and I still have a Centric pressure gauge on the dash.

Ian,

Have you considered having your existing blower suitably refreshed ? Nigel Reilly (former MMM owner) is a specialist on most Centrics, and Derek Chinn seems to repair most blowers, or can supply those of his own design. Both advertise in the VSCC Bulletin.

Colin

Thank you for the leads. As far as I understand the casing and impellors are shot from lack of lubrication. It was an early version, and was assembled the wrong way round so it was giving a weak suck which did not drive the lubricant through! I thought to see what is available on the market before committing to serious rebuilding expense.
