Well formally entries have closed, and its looking like a very good grid for an early season start. More MMM cars than 2012 MGLIve I think!

As published: http://www.mgcc.co.uk/motorsport/race-competitor-information/

We have 14 Prewar entries. The great news is that there are about 8 others that couldn’t make the day due to car readiness or unavailability, so all bodes well for the season.

Well done to all, especially Fred for all his efforts and I cant wait to see you at Silverstone

So the Triple M Line up looks like this (Supported by 8 T Types):

Mark Dolton PB (s)
Fred Boothby J2 (s)
Hamish McNinch C Type
Barry Foster Q Type
David Downes NA
Thijs de Groot PA
Chris Cadman C Type
Jane Metcalfe NA
Clive Temple Riley Brooklands
Andrew Morland C Type
Dave Cooksey C Type
Chris Smith NB
Oliver Richardson C Type
Stuart Evans J Sports

So nearly 6 C Types, unfortuantley Duncan Potter found a significant crack in the engine housing, but he will hopefully be at VSCC Spring start.

I thought you might like to know that at today's MG car club council meeting the chair of the racing sub-committee, Ron Gammons, reported on his great surprise and delight we now have 22 entrants for this race.

He asked for his thanks and appreciation to be recorded to Fred for bringing this all together and of course to all of the entrants for taking part. Hear hear to that!

His comments were met with applause. Definitely a step forward!

Hi all
If the meeting is run to the last few years mgcc format I will collect you all in the holding area and take you straight out on the green flag lap in the safety car.
Presumably unlike various other series nobody needs to generate any significant heat into their tyres so my question is this- if I average say 45/50 mph for the green flag lap will that allow the field to stay reasonably bunched together as usually we are unable to keep sight of the rear of the grid.
Any thoughts?

Phil

Phil,
Does that mean a rolling start? Never done one of those in 20 yrs of VSCC and MGCC MMM racing.

No
It means that you go straight out on the green flag lap behind the safety car and line up on the the grid for a standing start.

This is usually the procedure at the mgcc meetings to save time

Just after some pace advice really although final say on our pace is governed by the clerk of the course

I seem to recall Ron stated there was only one race with a larger grid?

Well done everyone, I am looking forward to watching the race with FOZ in the Q type being an added bonus!

Pity there are no K3s in the list.

Phil , thanks for that . I think 45/50 mph is about right , but you may have some imput from the highly tuned lads complaining about oiling up plugs at such low speeds ! However , looking down the list I cannot spot anyone running on methanol ( legally ) so that speed should be OK - and David Downes should be able to keep up .

Will have to get some illegal methanol in case I can't keep up. And you can keep your roll-mop Fred.

Ferry booked; one clog driver and a three (wo)man strong fan base on their way! Will try and bring some delicacies of the palatable kind, although it'll be quite the task to beat your kippered herring, fried bread and black pudding!

Mark, do we have race numbers yet?

Just saw the paddock layout at http://www.mgcc.co.uk/motorsport/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2013/11/Paddock-Plan-and-Garage-Allocation-Plan.pdf (I am awaiting a call back from Steve Carr about this as well). Not sure whether we have any leccy available although the plan does show a genny hook up point ...
