I'm looking for a new 9/44 crown & pinion for a "long nosed" K(N)-diff (+/- 190mm -> 3 bearings!!!). Is there anybody, who would sell a set? Or are there any other people who would be interested to join an order to increase the costs of production?

I would try Guest Gears as Nigel will probably put you in touch with the last person who had a batch made.

When I got my F-type it had a broken cw and p (a common problem with F-types!). I put Morris Minor internals in it, I dare say that Morrie Minors are getting a bit thin on the ground these days but there are many ratios and they are hypoid. Fairly simple mod but the Morris Minor mounting flange must be made thinner.

@ bahnisch: I believe the K-axle is the only one different to all the other MMM cars, so the big half-shafts of a K wouldn't fit into the Morris differential.

@ ross & etlanpa: I tried Guest Gears, but they haven't got a long pinion (3 bearings) for me on the shelf, and the batch made 3 years ago for the MMM-people were short ones (2 bearings). Also going from 9/44 (which I had) to 10/44 is o.k. for Hornets with 1600 blown engines and 16 inch wheels on the track. I need it for road use in the hills here in Luxembourg having 19" wheels on my K. Luckily, I got the news today that one of the Hornet owners will sell me his 9/44 CWP which he is going to take out.

I can make you a straight cut one if you get stuck.

A straight one would be an emergency solution, as the noise is apparently impressive in a street car. The Hornet-owner promised to take out his 9/44 soon to put his new 10/40 cwp. I'm trying to order the bearings now, and there was a QJ306TVP (splitted inner ring to put more balls inside) behind the flansh. Regarding the high forces, is this really better than a bearing with a 1 piece inner ring? Also the outer rings of the 2 other bearings (7306-B-TVP-UO) are just held by pressing them in. In my differential they moved and damaged the inside where they should stick. Shouldn't I improve the construction by a 2nd spacer between the outer rings of the front and the inner bearings on the pinion?
