I am considering replacing mine as re chroming would be impossible, does anyone have a supplier for the exact pre war pattern?
Many thanks.

Have you asked the platers Nigel? Mine seem to have done a fair job of it, but of course they're quite a long way from you!

Hi Dave
Can you put me in touch with them, do they sell by the metre?

Hi Nigel, I think you must have misunderstood me. I was saying that my platers had done a pretty fair job of re-plating the grille mesh, so it might be worth actually asking yours about it?

Cheers,

Dave

Nigel,

I don't think it is made any more. One supplier of modern stuff is:

I have a spare J2 mesh grill, but it's pretty fragile.

Nigel,
I came across these guys in the UK last week - very helpful.

http://www.wovenwire.co.uk/car-grilles

I believe that standard MMM style is 16SWG (1.63mm) with a 12mm aperture diagonal weave. Wovenwire can get close to this and do it in stainless steel if you don't want the expense of chrome on brass. They do brass as well, but not chromed.

Has anyone used the stainless steel option to make up a grill yet?
