Does anyone have a Wolseley style bell-housing as fitted to later Hornets and Nines? Slightly longer than MG and Morris type. I know it's unlikely but I thought it was worth a try!

Peter,
Sounds promising, but I don't have one so no measurements. I will find out though.
Thanks, Ian |

Peter, I don't know if this helps, but here is a picture. I am told it is alloy. Ian

Ian
I was not aware they may have made them in alloy. Have seen the cast iron version however.

Richard, 'Hornet' has sent me a photo of the alloy version. I would be quite happy with an iron one though! (Still looking).
Ian
The remains of the bell-housing on my gearbox ( Fordized ) show that it was originally cast iron. |

The engine and box in the photo is a wasp 10 hp not a nine |

The nine has an oil filler on the side of the block, the gearbox on the wasp has a square turret not a round one |
