I am looking for a new? solenoid to fit a dipping reflector mechanism.
Mine is on the way out!
Is anyone reproducing them, I don't want to convert to a modern set up.
I could get it re wound I suppose.
Any help much appreciated.
More moth holes.

If you can get access to the windings, it should be straightforward to rewind it yourself. Measure the diameter of the old wire with a micrometer. Weigh the solenoid, remove all the old wire and weigh again, this will tell you the approximate weight of wire you need to buy (obviously buy the next unit up). Wind on as many turns as will fit the former, exact number is not critical. Hand winding is fine. Modern wire covering enamels (insulation) are much better and last longer than the original. The enamel will have to be carefully scr@ped off where you need to make a connection.

I've think I've got one somewhere, I'll check it out if you're interested...there must be lots around as many cars have been converted to more modern systems.

Regards,
Graham
