Could any kind soul tell me the weight of a J2 gearbox, complete with bell housing and remote control? I need to get mine shipped to England (don't ask!) so want to be able to quote a weight to the shipping companies.
Many thanks, Gary. This confirms what another member advised me on the phone. I have to say I'm really surprised it's as heavy as it is. I'm well used to packing my suitcase to just meet the 20kg/44lb weight limit imposed by most airlines these days and I'd never have guessed the J2 box would be heavier. Now I have to get a crate made for it.
Actually I was just thinking that I could save myself a lot of grief by dispensing with the standard clutch (which is where my problems lie) and just fitting an ENV 75. Of course that is much heavier, and absorbs a bit of power, so then I'd need to fit a blower.......
