I'm looking for one standard 19" side laced wheel for my PA. Any condition, depending on price - WHY?

Hi Robin,
Yes, please! I had originally sought 18" wheels for my PA, in an attempt to shorten the overall gearing for hillclimbs. Then I discovered that I could only get 450/500x18 tyres from Blockley, which in fact have almost the same rolling radius as my current 400x19s, so no real gain. Then Julian Majzub suggested using his 350x19 tyres on my 19" wheels, reducing the rolling radius by ~7%. As I already have an extra 19" wheel, I only need one more to try this out.
Let me know your prices with the photos, please.

I'd love to hear how you get on, Colin....but you may want to keep it to yourself!!!!
At a recent hillclimb here in Cornwall, an Austin 7 driver borrowed some different diameter wheels, and immediately shaved 6 seconds off his time! They were actually larger diameter, but the same principle applies.

I've decided to put the idea on hold for the moment. Earlier this week I had the car set up on a rolling road, and one result was an increase in torque at 3000 revs from 24lbft to 63lbft!. As the problem I was trying to solve was a lack of pull during hillclimbing when changing from second to third, I think I need to try the car out now, to see if the extra torque solves the problem. Indeed, the smaller tyres could well cause adhesion problems with all that extra torque.

Longstone do a 400/450 x 18 with a block pattern, but the diameter is only 1/2" or so less than a 400x19. Not sure that would make a noticeable difference.

Thanks Ian, I saw that myself, and decided the difference would not be enough.
