George Eagles posting about ethanol free fuel reminds me that the old Red Hermetite contained ethanol and methanol. The modern version - Hylomar Red - is polyester urethane based which is probably why it's rubbish. The original was apparently developed in the 1920s for copper steam gaskets. Ian |
