I am in need of one of these bolts for my L2 rebuild. If anyone has one of these in their spares box surplus to requirements I would be very interested. The bolt head is slightly domed with a 5/8" dia shank 1/2" long, the threaded section is 1/2" dia (O/A)and approx 11/16" long giving a total length under the head of 1 3/16".

If it came with the headlamp bracket/tie bar I would happily purchase that too especially if it was an off side one.
Cheers,

Mike,
If no one on the right side of the pond comes up with one, I have two spares I'd be happy to donate.

Thanks for the info Carl, I hadn't thought of that, I also see that S&Vs old catalogue lists this special bolt so will contact them.

Thanks Lew, If I have no luck here I will be in touch.

Cheers,
Mike.

I have an original one of these, a bit rusty but it will clean up and chrome. If you want to have a look first I can send a photo to your email.

Hi Mike,

I have a pair of S&V ones with their nuts. In the end I had my old ones re plated.

In my last price list they were nearly £9 each & if you're interested I think £10 the pair to include 2nd class postage would be a fair price.

Cheers,

Dave

Thanks Dave,
I think I have located one but will get back to you if nothing comes of it. £10 the pair sounds fair.
Cheers,
Mike

On the MG TC, these bolts seem to have been painted and not chromed, if the contemporary photograph shown on page 69 of Graham Robson's "MG T-Series - The Complete Story" is anything to go by.
