Ian & Sue Nicholson, would like to know if any one has any knowledge of the fate of a PB Midget. ARY 614 they owned in the early sixties. Will try to add some photos.
Peter is right, I rebuilt ARY and raced the car before selling it to Mike who is a far better driver than I and enjoyed great success over many years.
I bought ARY when I lived in Truro about 1971. It was originally a 4 seater but had suffered neglect and had a very crude home made 2 seat body with a seat that was like a wooden church pew. The bonnet, scuttle and windscreen were original and the car was complete mechanically. I believe the car was used at the RAF base at St Mawgan.
I subsequently moved to the Swindon area and dismantled the car whilst I rebuilt my 4 seat PB DPF509 (PB0631). After that I turned my attention to ARY which was built with a Q style body and Zoller supercharger. I subsequently fitted a nose mounted Marshall after the Zoller seized during a VSCC race. The Zoller went to Carl Weissman. I enjoyed the car which performed really well being supercharged coupled with the lightweight body.
I sold the car to Mike Dowley, who built the engine, after a major failure of the new block when the wall of number one cylinder collapsed due to faulty casting. I did not buy the block from Mike.
Mike still owns the car.
If Ian wants any photos I can send them to him, and I would in turn like to see any of his.

PS - my old 4 seater PB is now back in the UK after being in Denmark for years.
