Following my earlier post re K1- JB1705, Bill Wilson a PO has now sent me a picture of an MG NA which was his 'daily runner' back in the 1960s. Once again, like the K1, he would like to know what has happened to it? The K1 is behind the NA. Keith.

Keith This looks like a NB to me - slatted grill, long door hinges and lower scuttle humps etc. Terry |

Alas I don't think the Register has any record of the NB's registration mark so identification may be tricky ![](images/icon_smile_sad.gif)

NA 0969. If you look at the photos of the summer gathering 2013 you'll see a photo of it on a trailer as collected by Barry W that morning.I believe it went to Holland and has since been chopped up to make a K3 style rep. Can't understand why there's no register record in that case? |

Odd that! The Register's database record for NA0969, including the factory file extract, shows a registration mark of DNL 429, whereas the picture shows DML 429. Probably too much of a coincidence?
PS Just spoke with the team at Kimber House, and the physical factory file does not reveal anything at all about this car's reg number!
Perhaps the Dutch owner can tell us more?

I saw this car at Peter Green's a couple of years ago - see picture attached.
The car was in fantastically original condition with all the correct fittings etc but in need of a full rebuild.
I heard subsequently that it went to Europe where it was being rebuilt in the style of a K3 which in my opinion is a real shame.

George Your photo was taken at Peter's in July 2013, just a tad more than a couple of years ago Time goes quickly and all that... I agree, it is a great shame that the opportunity to save this remarkably complete NB has been lost forever. There won't be many more found in this state. Terry |

I fear that only when every 4 cyl car is a C, J4 or Q & every 6 a K3 lookalike will we actually realise what we've gone & done.......

What happens to these complete original cars when a conversion is done? Do the bodies simply go for scrap?

Hear hear.
Unfortunately history shows that a car doesn't even need to require a rebuild in order to fall victim. It can even happen to a car you or I would be proud to own.

So far no-one has commented on whether the car is in fact NA0969, because there is a discrepancy between the including the factory file extract, which shows a registration mark of DNL 429, whereas the picture shows DML 429!
It's probably a clerical error from many years ago, but who knows?
