Just wondering if anyone happens to have a high quality version of this picture from the 1932 1000 mile race. I'm not interested so much the main subject but the blurry mark 2 18/80 behind. It seems to be RX 597? and the only mark 2 with a similar plate is 5975.
However it doesn't look like a 5 to me and the body doesn't match so maybe someone has a more legible hi-res version?

I don't think there is much of a problem with the photo you have; the blurry background is due to the use of a wide aperture on a lens with a relatively long focal length. The intended subject matter is quite sharp (blow up the 4 and look at the edges.)

A higher resolution is unlikely to make the blurry number plate any sharper.

Worth a try though- good luck.
