Most of Johns cars are based on Wolseley Hornet special chassis /engine But I know of at least one where he lengthened a Ptype chassis and fitted an Ntype lump ,cant really tell from the pic if this is the car but he does look a bit nonchalant does he not. Geoff |

Thanks George. I understand it is an L chassis with Hornet engine and gearbox. I'd like to contact the current owner. |

A car with this registration mark (it is actually BPG 892) is listed on the Register as PA0708. However, the reg is also associated with PA0728 and some have suggested that these may be one and the same car! PA0708 (which has Register Number 2808) was sold through Jarvis whereas PA0728 (which has Register Number 953) was sold via University Motors. Car originally fitted with side mounted blower and shortened K Type prop shaft. The factory also raised the comp ratio and polished ports etc.

According to John's son, BPG 892 is an MG PB with a 1935 Wolseley Hornet Engine. It was sold to a somebody in Japan about 5-6 years ago. Last my dad heard, it was sold to somebody else in Japan, who’s now in the process of rebuilding the engine. |
