I only chanced upon this picture today and I haven't yet got my local sleuths on the case to identify those pictured and the occasion. However I 'think' the car might be PA0456. Not all the drivers are necessarily Irish so if anyone can identify any of them it would be great.

Is the chap on the our left Leslie Callingham, who drove the 18/100 Tigress in the Double Twelve and worked for Shell-Mex Ltd.. and also drove Bentleys??

I'm not so sure, Mike. Callingham was apparently born in 1905 and the photo was probably taken in 1935 or 36. The chap in question looks to be older than 30 or 31.

I think Kenneth Evans is second from left, and could that be Dick Seaman in the dark overalls?

Graham,
I'm pretty sure the photo was taken st an Irish race and I don't think Kenneth Evans ever raced here. Also I think Kenneth Evans was more fine featured than the chap second left. As for Dick Seaman, I'm not sure that he raced here other than at the 35 TT and this photo almost certainly wasn't taken then. I'm minded to think that the chap in the dark overalls may be Flt. Lt. Briggs but more research needed.

I actually should have said the fellow second from right, not left, but if Evans never raced there it’s pretty irrelevant!

Leslie Callingham and H.D.Parker also tested for the Shell-Mex & B.P.Ltd the dry-sump lubrication system, using the 18/100 prototype, JO29.
There are rumours, that this Tigress will be for sale soon.

I'm assured that the chap second from right is not Kenneth Evans.

Could the gentleman on the right be the one on the left in this one?

Yes, Cath, I think that, as Johnny Cash sang, 'the one on the right is on the left' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDSN1F72QU4), namely W. Noble, Chairman of the UAC at that time. I have other photos that would seem to confirm this.
Many thanks

Could the bloke behind the one in the dark overalls be Tommie Wisdom?
