If the left side of the car hit the wall one wonders why is the left side of the car not more seriously damaged. Is it possible the damage to the wall was not caused by the car?
The number is not quite legible.

Hello Sam.
I was being facetious! Probably in bad taste in view of the fact it may well have been a fatal accident.
I agree with you, I think the extensive damage to the wall had probably been done previously.
Cheers,

Could this be Dudley Cottinghams J4129 ? Overturned into a ditch in Field End Road in 1935 killing both occupants. The registration was ALX 124..can't make out the registration in the photo, anyone with the techinical knowhow to retrieve this ?

Sorry Chris, at the risk of pointing out the obvious, where's the ditch? Looks more like a footpath to me |

Looks like ADV 720 or 770. Hopefully driver was thrown clear - or got his / her head down on the passenger side

Chris.
The car looks to me more like a P type, 12” brakes for instance.
Cheers,

Tony, where did you find this photo? It credits YPN so does that mean the accident was local to us? Interestingly there is no sign of any headlamps remaining, could this mean they were the first thing to 'go missing' after the accident? Terry. |

Mg Maverick - highly unlikely to be Cottingham as the pic was taken, probably in the Leeds area or at least West Yorkshire. The copyright notice should be a clue.
Terry
There is currently an exhibition on about all sorts of dangers to the public at the Abbey House Museum. It is in a lengthy slide show upstairs in the museum - as I was there with the Grand kids I couldn't really hang about to go through the whole show again to read all of the caption.
You could use it as an excuse to take Lucy to see the Victorian Street !!!!!
Alternatively, maybe Blue M could pop in as it is at the end of his street
Be aware, as this is Yorkshire, there is an entry fee !! |

I think they are trying to tell us something....."You will be amazed at how many everyday historic items would now be considered unsafe, unhygienic or downright dangerous!"
