I would be interested in the original color of the TK 7277. Was the paintwork two-tone? Are there factory records? Did the F0615 survive? The factory film from 1931 and 13th, 14th 1932 MCC London - Edinburgh Trial with image from the Motor Sport archive TK7277.

According to the factory file the car was green with a green interior. It does not appear to have survived. |

Thanks, would have guessed that the paint color is two-colored. It gives the impression when you look at the end of the film. And I think back then the F was new from the factory (if only a film).

The green would also have applied to the wire wheels.
I wonder if our trials experts can identify the venue?

1932 MCC Edinburgh Trial. Driver S W Cottee. Hill is probably West Stonesdale although the bottom section of the hill has similarities to Stake Moss.

Hi Mike, source: https://www.prewarminor.com/triple-m-corner-no-26 13th, 14th 1932 MCC London – Edinburgh Trial MG Magna TK 7277 was driven by S.W. Cottee and is seen here climbing Park Rash hill in the Yorkshire Dales during the course of the 1932 running of the event. Cottee won a Premier Award for his (and the car’s) efforts over the two days. (This image is held in the Motor Sport image archive and is reproduced here by permission of LAT Photographic)

S. W. Cottee was married to my grandmother's aunt and my father remembered TK7277 from visits to the Cottee family home in Wareham during the war. As a teenager in 1967, we went on a family visit but, I don't remember seeing the car. It could have been hiding in one of the locked garages. I have always remembered several silver fingerpost trophies on display, won by S. W. Cottee in his Magna and other won by his son Ron on a motorcycle. About ten years ago, I was discussing this car with my father and asked him if he could remember the colour. He said it was yellow which, surprised me. I can't ask anybody else in the family as those who might remember are long gone. |
