doe's anyone know when and where and why the extra side lights on top of the wings

Just a guess as to why. Could it be as these are 1500s to separate side and indicator lights? As to when & where, I've no idea.

TC is one of the registration codes for Lancashire. Lancashire Police Force had a long history of MG police cars from the 1930s

Maybe the original sidelights were used as flashing warning lights so they added the wing top ones to replace them.

Thanks for your thoughts guys,the picture proves that cars and ladies in uniform from days gone by are somewhat more appealing than todays
