The rebuild of the rear of the late PB 4 seat is continuing.

The telescopic absobers currently in place pervent reinstalling the rear seat platform and sidescreen box.

On that basis I need to reinstall the Luvax type A or AR shock absorbers; ideally in good condition or if not, unsplit and capable of rebuild.

Thanks, Ronald. I am currently talking to vintage and classic shock absorbers who have several in working condition, so the problem MAY be over.

They are moving out of VAT today so the price suddenly becomes easier!

Given that Luvax do not have glittering reputation, why not install Hartfords, or is it just a case of originality?

It is a question of space.

I am rebuilding the sidescreen box and rear seat support for a 4 seat PB. The box needs to extend across almost the full width of the rear to hold the back side screens. The current telescopic shocks and the Hartfords take up too much space. The Luvax fit tight and low relative to the springs and rear axle.

The ones I expect to add use relatively modern steel boxes not the 1930's original pot metal, which is certainly fragile.
