I've put this request out to see if you know of anyone else out there who is about to start a salonette restoration or who is unknown to me requiring a few critical and salonette specific parts? Like these ...
I've nearly cleared out of all my pre & post war MG stuff now ... but I cant just throw these away!

I suggest Chris Wallis or I hold them in case someone wants them. Don't throw them away!

Or donate them to your favourite MMM trade supplier. |

thanks for the responses so far. Including yourself Peter and Chris W I know of 4 other people who have done, owned and or restored a salonette ... and they have all been furnished with some or most of the parts already. I cant just dispose of course not but ...its now in your minds so hopefuly in time someone will take on such a project. I'm aware of 3 salonettes squirrelled and rusting away ... so they are out there awaiting a new home one day!

Chris , I am not doing a salonette, but currently assembling a DHC. This is not a MMM but , I regret to say , a 1934 Alvis. I have noticed that a lot of the parts shown in your photograph are common to the screen opening mechanism as used by Cross and Ellis , and when I have laid out all my bits and pieces I will be able to see what is missing and what you could possibly help me with ( if you don't mind the stuff being used on an Alvis ) Obviously a MMM would take precedence ! Chris , I have identified three pieces that I am missing from my screen-opening mechanism - will you be able to supply me with these ? |

Hi Fred, i have no issues with these parts being used on any classic car. I know a lot of these fit a Triumph Gloria too. If no one comes forward like Alan Mcbeath then they'll go to a none MG ... shame as you'll be extremely lucky to find these again!

Chris, are all the windscreen fittings now spoken for ? I am still short of three pieces to complete my screen mechanism - but as I mentioned , not on a MMM. |
