I wonder if anyone knows of a source of half round aluminum section with a 3/8” base size?
I am not having any luck finding any and would be glad of any assistance. It has to be 3/8” to suit an existing application.

Hi,
Depends on your requirements, but 3/8” pin beading would give you that, the pins are easily removed with no damage to the surface.

Vintage Car Parts, ex Paul Beck does it, Part 579 I seem to remember, it goes over the top of the front of the hood on a TA, not the hides that most people use.
