A friend sent me this picture published in June 1935 of the showroom of Victor Ltd, the M.G. agent for Northern Ireland.
![](https://www.triple-mregister.org/forums//uploads/Simon Johnston/202412219543_IMG_7113.png) The premises were on the corner of Donegall Square West and Howard Street and are long gone, replaced by a pretty hideous bank in the early 1970s which was the scene of possibly the largest cash robbery in British history when thieves walked away with £26.5 million just before Christmas, 2004.
The picture is from The Irish Motor News in June 1935 and shows just one M.G. on display. It looks to my untutored eye like an N Type rather than a P Type and as far as I can determine, Victor didn’t sell any P Types in or around June 1935. I understand the chassis files for N Types around that period are missing.
So if anyone has an N Type first registered in Northern Ireland around June 1935, this might be it. |

Hamish, Are you thinking of the car, fifth from the right? I did wonder about it but couldn’t be sure.

RA0259 is stated as having been ordered by W R Baird through MG Agents Patterson's in Belfast. Was this another agent in NI?

All M.G.s that came into Northern Ireland passed through Victor Ltd, the main distributor, even if ordered through another local selling agent. My J2 was ordered in Topping's garage in Enniskillen but my father picked it up at Victor's where he found it waiting for him, parked on the footpath.
