I am trying to find out anything I can about a coachwork company/ garage who were active in the early 1930's. They were called Green Park Motors and they were located in London W1. I assume from their name that they were likely near Green Park in the area north of Piccadilly where other companies such as University Motors had showrooms and workshops.

If anybody has any information or knows where I might find it I would be grateful to hear. Many thanks
Terry

They must have moved, but kept the same phone number - but now with five lines! This is from June 1938.

Well done Sam this is the first piece of information I have on them having searched the internet without success. I remembered that someone on here had found information or a book or article about prominent dealers and garages of that era and thought they might have info.
If anyone has any other references would be glad to hear from you.
Thanks
Terry

Related to Sam's find, this SS 100, photographed at the corner of Park Lane and Piccadilly, not far from Brick Lane, was supplied by Green Park Motors. It was apparently the fourth SS 100 built

Park Lane and Picaddily meet at Hyde Park corner in West London. Brick lane is at the other side of London, East London, in Whitechapel.

That should of course have been Brick Street which is just round the corner from where the photo was taken.

Brick Street is just of Piccadilly close to its junction with Piccadilly. I used to have an office in Hertford Street just around the corner. Brick Street is of interest to Triple M because it was also the location of the University Motors garage and workshop where cars were prepared and repaired for customers. Their main showroom was of course around the corner in Piccadilly later on at Stratton House nearly opposite The Ritz. Whether Green Park shared premises with University I do not know.

Terry,
Judging by the street numbers Green Park Motors, numbers 2 & 4, might have been opposite University Motors at number 1.

I think the photo of the SS 100 was taken at the corner of Hertford Street and Park Lane, or Old Park Lane as that section is now. The street sign on the other side of Park Lane shows Hamilton Place and it joins (Old) Park Lane opposite Hertford Street. So not on the corner of Piccadilly!
