We have been approached by a researcher at the ACH24 (Archaeologists of the 24 hours of Le Mans). They seek information about Charles Phillipe Bonneau, sometimes known as Claude Bonneau. M.Bonneau raced an MG PB special at Le Mans in 1938 and 1939. Unfortunately this is all the information we have been given. Can anyone assist? Many thanks Peter
Looking quickly in "The Sport Car" there appears to be no mention of any MG entries at Le Mans for either 1938 or 1939 so I presume that there was no official/works backing of his entries.
Interestingly in '38 his co-driver is given in "Motor Sport" as Anne-Cecile Rose-Itier, unusual to have a lady driver. Their number was 47 finishing 12th after 165 laps.
In '39 his co-driver was Max Mathieu the pair DNF retiring after 40 laps.
