Some photos were advertised on fleaBay last week as “MGs at the Ulster Grand Prix” although since the Ulster Grand Prix was, and still is, a motorbike race, the location clearly wasn’t correct. (For an M.G. at the Ulster Grand Prix see this thread - https://www.triple-mregister.org/forums/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=13004&SearchTerms=Ulster,Grand,Prix,1934 )
I won the auction and the photos were effectively two lots. One lot comprised three commercial/professional photos taken at the Irish Grand Prix at Phoenix Park in Dublin in June 1931 featuring C0254 driven by R.T. Horton.
The second lot comprised snapshot-style photos taken from the stand at the Start/Finish area at the 1931 TT at Ards in August that year and again featuring C0254, driven by Horton.
The photos came from a photo album which the seller had won at an auction some years ago but he knew nothing of its history.
Would anyone have any idea who might have put those pictures in a photo album? Someone from the Horton family, perhaps.

Terry,
At Phoenix Park the car (number 35) is listed in the programme as unsupercharged (or to be more accurate, it’s not identified as supercharged) as all the C Types were, but at Ards, the same car (number 45) is listed as supercharged and clearly it is.
There was only one unsupercharged C Type at the 1931 TT, entered, and driven, by F.M. Montgomery.
