I haven't had trouble with any of the parcel shipping companies (DHL, GLS, Fedex, ...), providing it was sent with track & trace. They send you a neat message to fulfil the duties and some time later i received the goods.
Royal mail and its counter part PostNL is a different story though. Had to wait for two months for a couple of magazines to arrive, damaged. Other shipments dod not arrive at all.
I recommend to use a parcel shipment company, with track and trace. But sender and receiver then know the where-abouts of the goods.

I posted a MMM Yearbook to Peter Steyn in South Africa and about a year later it came back to me! Chris |

I have been fond of Royal Post and also DHL (never had an issue with either).

From previous posts, I understand that it is the hassle of shipping overseas that makes some sellers reluctant to ship to a non-UK address. However, there are also examples of successfully completed overseas transactions. Maybe it would be easier for sellers if there was a step-by-step guide on how to ship MMM parts overseas. That could eliminate the need for every seller to re-invent the wheel should an overseas MMM owner be interested in their parts. I have personally experienced fantastic service from DHL as well as the Royal Mail/US Postal Service. But I have no idea what hassle the sellers went through to actually ship the packages.

Reinout An excellent idea. If someone will collate the information and write the guide, I will make it available to all subscribers. It can be a work in progress as updates become available.

Thanks ChatGPT
Of course! Shipping a parcel from the UK to an overseas destination can be done easily using private courier services. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide for you:
Step 1: Prepare Your Parcel Pack Your Items: Use a sturdy box or envelope to pack your items securely. Make sure to cushion fragile items with bubble wrap or packing paper. Seal It Well: Use strong tape to seal the box or envelope so it doesn't open during transit. Label the Parcel: Clearly write the recipient's name, address, and country on the parcel. Make sure to include a return address as well. Step 2: Choose a Courier Service Here are a few popular courier services you can use instead of Royal Mail:
DPD Hermes (now called Evri) ParcelForce (part of the Royal Mail Group but acts as a separate service) DHL FedEx UPS You can find these services online, or you might see local shops that offer parcel shipping services.
Step 3: Book the Shipping Online Booking:
Visit the website of the courier you’ve chosen. Use their shipping calculator to get an estimate of the cost. You'll need to enter the parcel's dimensions, weight, and the destination. Follow the prompts to fill out any required information and pay for the service online. Print out the shipping label they provide. In-Person Booking:
Take your parcel to a local shop that offers the courier service (such as a parcel drop-off point). The staff will help you fill out the necessary forms and pay for the shipment. Step 4: Drop Off Your Parcel If you booked online, attach the printed shipping label to your parcel and drop it off at the courier's local office or a designated collection point.
Step 5: Track Your Parcel Most couriers provide a tracking number when you book your shipping. You can use this number on the courier's website to see where your parcel is and when it is expected to arrive.
Final Tip: Make sure to check any customs regulations for the destination country if you're sending items that may be restricted or require special forms. Each courier's website usually has guidelines about this. That's it! Just follow these steps, and you’ll be able to send your parcel overseas without any hassle. If you have any questions or need help along the way, don’t hesitate to ask someone for assistance.

I read a few days ago that Evri does have a very good record recently. Although it did seem to be for deliveries to the UK. The parcels having been left on door steps and then stolen.
