MG 2907 was owned in Devon in 1947 and was sold in 1948 to be towed away behind a T type! Do not know what happened to the windscreen or why it was sold!I was reported to go round corners at higher speed than a more costly car! Not on the register now! A University Motors coupe, I think!

Mike it looks like an L Continental Coupe to me. By the look of pictures 2 and 5 it was in the process of being chopped to form an open car.

I'd agree, Terry. Makes you weep, doesn't it? |

Looks to me like it might have been rolled, perhaps proving how fast it could go round corners! Look at the headlights, while the rear wing also looks to be damaged.

It's still one of my favourite MGs but when you see it in a monotone paint finish you can see why it needed the fancy duotone finish to make it look good.

Have to agree with you Simon. I could never really understand why they didn't sell

I have to agree with Graham, the car has obviously tipped over onto it's side as witness the headlamp and damaged nearside wings. Pity.
I have to say the car is an acquired taste and I personally do not like the body style. The L1 salonette looks much better.

As you say George, each to their own; personally I much prefer the look to the Salonette but having no personal experience, you may well be right Greg.

Hello Mike,
Nice to see the pictures of the L1 Continental Coupe. Since I am rebuilding one, as you know, I am interested in copies of such L1 CC photographs in any condition. Any one else with photographs of an L1 Continental Coupe is invited to send me a digital copy.
Thanks,
Paul |

After talking again to the brother of the owner, it did tip over when the spokes collapsed on a fast corner!
