With the electric wiper on the left the car is later than J3529 (early August 1933). The registration number would appear to start with OY and the first digit could be five or six, followed by eight and then eight again

The Register shows J4207 as OY 6889 - a possible match?

Simon, Very interesting. The swept wings would tie in with the late J2 chassis number.
If it is OY 6889,the car had been fitted with a Triumph Herald engine and was involved in a serious accident near York around 1999. The owner, who survived the accident, stripped the car, following which I bought some of the remains including the bent chassis. The car has been rebuilt with C type body and is close to completion.
The log book indicates that it was active in Bradford, Yorkshire around 1967.

Yes, Alan, the swept wings predate the electric wipers by about three weeks!

Could well be the same car then. You didn't know this when you said Bradford, but I can confirm this picture was taken in Bradford in the early 50's. I asked the man (boy) in the picture!
