Owned originally by Lloyd Cowdy and regularly used by him and his sister, Hilda, in trials and even at Craigantlet. Bought by Ronnie Adams in 1938 and used by him in competition that year but nothing further known of it since then.

I did not make the connection to previous thread. Is this a 'new' picture?
When would this car have been first registered?

Another very nice period picture.
L2004 is unfortunately not listed on the Register.
L2004 was one of 9 cars - chassis numbers L2002 to 2010 - commissioned on 24th March 1933.
The car was delivered to Victors, Belfast on 8th April 1933 and appears to have been sold to Lloyd Cowley on the same day. The original colour was black with green upholstery, there was a special petrol gauge fitted. The chassis file shows that on 26th July 1934 the car was back at the works for work on the front axle/bent chassis following an accident. At the same time a new block was fitted, and also K3 valves. On 1st September there was reference to a letter regarding a compression ratio of 8.2:1 and use of 50/50 Benzole-Ethyl. There is reference to the TT and a sump distance piece being fitted.

Sam,
It was apparently delivered to Victor Ltd on 8 April 1933 for Lloyd Cowdy from Banbridge - hence the County Down number.

Seeing as it's St.Patrick's Day.
Here's another one from the Emerald Isle. What can you tell us of this L-Type, Sam, George, Simon? I know that it completed The 1000 mile Circuit of Ireland in 1949.
Happy St.Pat's to All!..............

The Registration number CZ4243 does not appear in the 2014 printed Register, and there is no trace of the number in the files I have.
Unfortunately the registration number is not recorded on quite a lot of the L2 chassis files.

Sorry, George.
I should have pointed out that it's an L1- (four seater).
