I'm after a couple of parts for a P-Type.
An odometer that fits in the centre dash panel.
The PLC switch - although I have no idea what the correct one looks like.
Any leads on where I might find these?
If anyone is interested I have to trade what I believe to be a TC oil temperature gauge and a TD windscreen frame.
Thanks Paul. |

Paul,
Good luck on the odometer. They are quite rare, but you may be able to adapt on early chronometric speedometer without using the speedometer portion, as I believe the internals are the same.
Regarding the PLC2 switch, contact Peter Hehir in Australia (pjbm (at) bigpond (dot) com). He has bought a number of military style PLC2 switches and is adapting them for Triple-M use.

Thanks Lew.
So, what does the correct switch look like?
And when you adapt a chronometric speedo, what do I need to look out for? Does the donor speedo have to have the milometer and trip rolls of numbers?

Hi Paul,
This is what the Odometer looks like. Pictures show the front, rear, and inside. Sorry about the quality of the third picture but, it shows there is very little inside. I believe new ones are available for about £400.00 but, you could probably fabricate one for much less.

So, what does the correct switch look like? I don't have a photo to hand, but it is a PLC2 with the word "ROTAX" beneath the knob.
And when you adapt a chronometric speedo, what do I need to look out for? Just remove the needle and needle shaft.
Does the donor speedo have to have the milometer and trip rolls of numbers? Yes of course. Those are the needed parts from the donor speedo/

Regarding the brown PLC2 Rotax switch, Craig Seabrook of the Whitworth shop usually has a rebuilt one in stock.
