I have had PA1212 for almost 44 years. Assembly was completed in June 1934; the car went from the works to University Motors on September 1; it was finally sold by the London dealer Pass & Joyce on June 3, 1935. Some warranty work was done during the first few weeks after purchase, and in revisiting those files I noticed on a Claim Under Guarantee: "This car has been on S.O.R. for some time, and has only recently been sold." I am stumped as to what S.O.R. means, and grateful for any help.
That makes sense, Ollie. Perhaps a kind of consignment. University Motors was still listed as the "Agent," while Pass & Joyce was the "Dealer." I know some cars languished for some time before sale.
