The Register has been approached by Mr. Federico Göttsche Bebert of the organisation called HERO - Historic Endurance Rallying Organisation - Which is involved in organizing the Royal Automobile Club 1000 mile Trial, 2016.

The event runs from Tuesday, 12 July to Saturday, 16 July, starting in Edinburgh and concluding at Woodcote Park in Epsom, Surrey.

Details can be found on the attached flyer, but in summary here is an outline:

It is an event that aims to showcase the best of British to both international and national participants and stops en-route include a pre-event tour and dinner on board the Royal Yacht Britannia, stately homes such as Chatsworth and Blenheim Palace to mention but a few. The Royal Automobile Club 1000 Mile Trial has gathered visibility and praise by being the first event to win the Rally of the Year Award at the Historic Motoring Awards in two consecutive years - 2014 and 2015 and also the internationally coveted FIA Founding Members Club Heritage Cup in 2015.

The organisers believe that the success of the event is driven by the passion of the crews and their willingness to demonstrate that cars should be used in a mildly competitive environment. They are therefore keen on strengthening their ties with individual owner’s Clubs to create a competitive spirit between marques, showcase the marque reliability and their crews’ willingness to continue he event history in the same spirit of that portrayed by those original motoring pioneers that took part on the first 1000 Mile Trial ever in the year 1900. (Note: this is not the RAC Rally of the Tests.)

They plan to continue to build this event to become the National UK event to compete with the likes of the Mille Miglia and Targa Florio. To that end they would be delighted to offer our Club members (individually or team entry) an entry fee at a discounted preferential rate of £4,350.

As a matter of interest Federico Göttsche Bebert is the grandson of the legendary MG racer of the 1930s, Count 'Johnny' Lurani, most celebrated for his success in the 1933 Mile Miglia race.

Details of the 2016 event can be seen at http://www.heroevents.eu/Events/1000mt/ With a video at https://youtu.be/zQmy0bYciEI

Federico can be contacted at federico@heroevents.eu

If any readers of this message are interested in knowing more, please contact me to let me know that you might be considering taking part. In a perfect world it would be great to see a few triple-M cars involved -including some of the mighty Magnettes of 33!
