Many thanks Russell very pleased that you and so many other Triple M owners along with T Types MGAs&Bs Midgets MGF etc were able to attend. Mike Allison gave a splendid illustrated account of his life with MG and his work at Abingdon. He and wife Anne came from Newbury in a most impressive MG3. Contributions from Alec Poole , Bill Price, Willy Cave and Graham Robson. Close to 100 people enjoyed the warm spring sunshine all day and barbecue lunch - as ever there is never quite enough time to get in everything. Thanks all for coming.
Ta for sending this to me, and most satisfying too.
Just to correct a slight (and often made error) my car is a Talbot 90 not 105…perhaps you could put the record straight?
The 90 was built upon in a just seven weeks (similar to the MG’s as described at Albury) by the dealer Fox & Nicholl for the 1930 Double-Twelve with disastrous consequences. Two of the team of three collided probably due to inexperienced co-drivers, and there were several fatalities… not a good start! Nonetheless one month later the three car team was much more successful at Le Mans coming in 3rd & 4th behind the two winning 6.5 litre Bentleys. Further success came in the Ulster TT another two months later….. Stephen Lee.
